So I guess I should have a little introduction.
I'm Morgan, and I'm a young, single mother who believes in natural parenting. My daughter, Berkley, just turned 10 months old. I was born and raised in a small town in Kentucky. We're slowly becoming a city-- a fact that I'm pretty depressed about. Buildings keep popping up were trees used to stand, and soon, smog will suffocate fresh air. That must sound all hippie, but I love nature. I'd rather preserve it than live in a metropolis.
When it comes to child-rearing, I'm definitely going to try to instill a quality of humility into Berkley. I don't want her growing up acting arrogant, and holier-than-thou; rather, I'd like her to be modest, and to treat everyone she meets with kindness.That probably sounds silly to most people, but that's how I was raised: treating everyone the way I wished to be treated in return. I also want her to understand the value of a dollar. I was ridiculously materialistic in middle- and high-school. I had to have the newest Coach purse; the best Ugg boots; the most expensive pair of jeans I could find, just because I could. Blatantly, I was a spoiled brat who always got what she wanted. Thankfully, becoming a mother has cured me of that immature style of living. When you're pregnant, you don't really have the choice of putting yourself first anymore, though. It's all about the tiny little life within you. Finding out I was pregnant was a huge surprise, but I've never regretted it.
